Project Overview

Shodha Toyota is one of the biggest automobile showrooms in Hubli, Karnataka. In view of its show room size, Shodha used to incur high electricity bills, and was look at a durable, long-term solution to overcome the same.

Solution:

After studying Shodha’s load patterns and consumption history, KotakSolar suggested a 50kWp grid-tied solar Car-Port solution, our solution was sufficient to meet 80 % of showroom’s day load requirements, going a long way in minimizing their energy bills. In addition the Car-Port also provided shelter for around 30 cars, adding an aesthetic appeal to the showroom.

Hybrid System:

Customer – Poultry & Hatcheries, Karnataka

System Size – 35kWp Hybrid Solar power plant

Project Overview

Nanda Group are the promoters in charge of running Komarla Hatcheries. For their farm in Santhanur, Nanda were looking at a solution that could address the following problems:

  • Reliable supply of power to support their critical automated feeding operation
  • Reduce their dependence on Diesel GenSet (DG), which had become a necessity to support the operations at the hatcheries given regular power outages
  • Ultimately bring a reduction in their Diesel costs and maintenance cost of running the DG set

Solution:

Given that Nanda required a solution that could support their operations round the clock, KotakSolar suggested a 35kWp Hybrid Solar Power plant (supplemented with a 300 Ah/240V battery bank). Our hybrid solar system was synchronized with their existing energy infrastructure (Grid and DG) ensuring seamless integration of the solar plant. The management of multiple power sources (solar, grid, battery and DG) was completely automated and DG start/stop was controlled through an advanced logic that constantly monitored solar generation and battery state of charge (SOC).

Benefits:

Since the installation of the system in Aug 2012, the farm has recorded a 90% reduction in Diesel consumption, and 87% reduction in Diesel expenses while continuing to enjoy clean source of power.

Off-Grid Solar Power Plant:

Customer – Fuel Station, Karnakata

System Size – 5kWp Building integrated Solar Photovoltaic (BIPV) plant

Project Overview

  • Provide Building integrated Solar Photovoltaic (BIPV) for IOCL filling station Canopy, replacing the existing canopy
  • Provide LED lights having equivalent illumination as metal halide lights used in present canopy design
  • Provide LED yard lights having equivalent illumination as metal halide lights
  • Provide CFL lights for office area

Solution:

  • KotakSolar designed a Building Integrated Power Plant (BIPV) plant on the canopy of the Fuel station outlet. The canopy was made of steel structure suitable for mounting BIPV Solar panels.
  • Solar panels were mounted over the canopy roof using high grade adhesive tapes and further sealing provided with the usage of Silicon sealant to avoid leakage during the monsoons
  • A battery bank (to support round the clock operations of the fuel station) and control electronics panel were housed in sheltered location on the ground.
  • The Hi-brightness LED lights for canopy and yard lighting were provided equivalent illumination comparable to metal halide light. This resulted in considerable saving in energy bills

Net Metering –Grid interactive Solar PV Power Plant

Customer – Educational University, Andhra Pradesh

System Size – 70 kWp Gird-Tied Solar Power Plant

Project Overview

SSBN Degree College is one of the renowned institutions in Andhra Pradesh. The management intended to produce independent power thru green technology, ultimately thru Solar and thereby reducing their expenditure on utility bill.

Solution:

Understanding the college’s requirement, Kotak Solar, assessed their energy needs & and the Shadow free roof available to install the solar Panels, designed a 70KW capacity of Grid Interactive Solar power plant. Kotak solar installed the system on the 700 Sq Mtrs. Roof area under the Net metering scheme which then was newly introduced by Andhra State Government.

  • More than 350 units being generated Per day
  • Excess power generated thru Solar is exported to Grid. As per records more than 3500units exported within span of 60days

In case, the solar power generated is less compare to load then the required power will be taken from grid.

Grid Tied Solar PV Power Plant

Customer – Heavy Industry, Rajasthan

System Size – 100kWp Gird-Tied Solar Power Plant

Project Overview

Pyrotech electronics is an manufacturing company and their daily requirement of power is around 1MWh per day. With a intention to reduce their Power bills they wanted to maximum of offset their Power requirement with Solar power. 100KWp plant has been installed at pyrotech. Now they can able to reduce their power consumption from grid is around 400 – 450KWh per day.

Solution:

Understanding the college’s requirement, Kotak Solar has suggested them with 100KW Power plant, within the space available on their roof, which is now catering them with 450-475KWh per day.

Industrial Solar Heating Solutions:

Customer – Paint Industry, Haryana

System Size – 40,000 LPD

Project Overview

  • The client required hot water to meet their boiler pre-fed requirements for their Paints division
  • Prior to solar Integration, entire system was running on boiler fed hot water
  • Resulting in high operational cost for generation of hot water which was required to be mixed with the paints in their generation process

Solution:

  • KotakSolar provided a solution of 40000 LPD of hot water @ 80 deg Celsius as boiler pre fed, which will be on a double loop heat exchanger system
  • The system was split into 20000 LPD x 2 No, helping the customer in maintenance (1 working + 1 stand by)

System Size – 12,000 LPD

Project Overview

  • Provision of hot water to be utilized in their GET hostel premises

Solution:

  • Industrial type 3000 LPD x 4 No SWH system with working at 1 kg/sq.cm pressure
  • Thermosyphon concept SWH system with inbuilt electrical heaters with control panel

Benefits:

  • It is estimated that, the annual O & M cost of the solar water heating system is lower than the cost of maintaining individual electrical heaters

Customer – Residential Complex, National Capital Region

System Size – 1,13,500 LPD ETC Systems

Project Overview

  • ovision of hot water to requirement of the residents of the prestigious apartments. at 55 to 60 ºC.

Solution:

  • The system consists of evacuated tube collector manifold
  • The system is designed for soft water application and it operates on Thermosyphon
  • Cold water supply to solar tank by overhead tank. Soft water circulation between solar tank and ETC manifold bank.

Benefits:

  • It is estimated that, the annual O & M cost of the solar water heating system is lower than the cost of maintaining individual electrical heaters
